Christmas was celebrated at Sdetland – the Social Development and Education Trust in Tamil Nadu, India – on the evening of 22 December.
The children really enjoyed the festival after two years where such gatherings could not take place. The evening was filled with songs and dancing, a visit by three Santas, motivational speeches, music, prizes, snacks, dinner, prayers… and lots of fun.
Some parents were able to join in alongside their children, and the celebrations brought a great deal of happiness to the children and young people with learning disabilities, and those from low-income backgrounds, who attend SDET.
Many thanks from all at SDET to Jaspreet Johal in the UK, who made the evening possible with a generous donation sent through DDP.
If anyone is able to share or contribute to the campaign to fund a disability-friendly toilet block at SDET we would also be very grateful.
