This is a collection of interviews with some of the people involved in our project to improve women and girls’ health and wellbeing by tackling harmful traditional practices (HTP) from 2019 to 2022, implemented by our Ethiopian partner Berhan Lehetsanat in Malga Woreda, with funding from Jersey Overseas Aid.
It shows how the project contributed to change in this traditional rural area of Sidama, where harmful and illegal practices had persisted – including FGM, early marriage, abduction and unsafe childbirth – by raising awareness, changing attitudes and mobilizing people at all levels of the community.
