About Us

Objectives and guiding principles

  • Enhancing achievement of disabled children in education
  • Supporting Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) and the disability movement
  • Reducing poverty among disabled people and their families
  • Promoting appropriate and low cost assistive devices and physical rehabilitation
  • Encouraging South-to-South and regional exchange of information and skills
Our vision is a society where disabled men and women, boys and girls, and the most vulnerable in society have equal social, economic and civil rights. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do where disabled and vulnerable people actively engage in or lead ideas for change and equality of opportunity especially in areas where disabled adults and children have been denied this. We focus our programmes on disabled children and adults, carers of disabled people, disabilities that are not so obvious such as deafness and mental illness and other vulnerable and marginalised members of society.
Our approach to partnership is responsive and flexible and we work with our partners to translate ideas into tangible and effective programmes.
